The Giving Tree

For months we have been busy with making trees out of wire and beads for centerpieces. We are getting close to finishing all of them, thanks to Gregg’s perseverance and thoughtful encouragement. Each tree takes approximately 8 hours to create and consists of a trunk made of 20 strands of twisted wire, and 30 branches made of wire with tiny seed beads strung onto it. When the tree is complete, a charm is attached to it with a little more wire.

I love these trees with grayed sage colored leaves in front of the Ashley Furniture store on Ward Avenue!

For me, trees spark awe, wonder, and careful observation. I often think of Shel Silversteins book, “The Giving Tree” when looking at trees. While making each tree, my mind wanders and imagines that each tree will absorb the happiness of our wedding celebration and carry that energy home with the recipient. It has been a fun and meditative process making them and we hope you will enjoy them. Trees silently give a lot to us and I like to think that our tree centerpieces will silently give the recipient beauty, a reminder of happy memories, and love.
